Usufruct is a limited real right conferring on another the power to take the fruits of an immovable belonging to the owner. The Turkish Civil Code regulates in detail its creation, scope, the duties of owner and usufructuary, and the grounds of termination.
In inheritance and real-estate files, usufruct is often constituted in favour of a surviving spouse, a donor or a designated beneficiary. The office considers together the real-right and law-of-obligations dimensions of registration, infringement, termination and conversion into a money claim.
